This week has been craziness. I did not expect this for myself in January! Our first orders start in Mid-March, meaning we have to have plants of size and ready to go by then. I’ve had some help digging up the row of parsley in the front yard and moving them to pots. Black swallowtails like feeding on potted plants better than plant cuttings, so I hope to keep these plants well-watered and alive throughout the heat of the summer. My fingers are a little raw from digging up stinging nettle runners and placing them under grow lights in pots. In a month or so I should have enough lush foliage to start some of the earliest Red Admirals.
